  • Overview

    Experience configuring, operating, managing, monitoring, and deploying network security devices, and systems using advanced knowledge of security networking devices, such as application, proxy, and packet based firewalls like McAfee Enterprise firewall appliances (v7 and v8), Enterprise and Control Center Management appliances, IPSEC, SSL and SSH applications, Cisco Secure Access Control Servers (ACS), Cisco Security Manager (CSM), Cisco VPN and firewall devices and/or, Secure Computing Sidewinder firewalls; and related software and hardware used in LAN/WAN networks. Experience contributing to security planning, assessments, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and awareness activities for systems and networking operations. Define and implement security rules and analyze audit logs. Provides lifecycle support; hardware, software, firmware, and configuration upgrades or modifications to installed network equipment in either a large organization or large system. Manages, monitors, and controls networks to include network security, fault management, configuration, and performance. Troubleshoots networks, computers, and peripheral devices to isolate causes of failures or problems.


    • Implement Federal and industry security standards and best practices.
    • Lead system performance, diagnosis and scalability assessment activities.
    • Review and approve design decisions prior to implementation to ensure adherence to project guidelines.
    • Provide production problem diagnosis and technical guidance to support the project team. Implement the resolutions.
    • Provide expert guidance in the areas of encryption, authentication, authorization, monitoring, and security management.
    • Perform risk analysis and mitigation in the architecture and design of information systems. Lead proposal development, deliver new technologies and capabilities, and interact with customers.


    • MUST possess a current and active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
    • A Bachelors or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, as well as extensive industry experience.
    • Five (5) years experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
    • Five (5) years experience with Federal or Industry security standards.
    • Demonstrated experience of at least five (5) years shall be within the Information Technology Domain.
    • Five (5) years experience in Computer Network Operations - Tools and methods enabling computers to communicate with other computers.
    • Five (5) years experience in Information Assurance Tools and methods to protect information from unauthorized access, modification, and deletion.
    • Five (5) years experience in Information Technology - Tools and methods enabling creating, manipulating, and storing information on computer systems and related hardware.
    • Five (5) years experience in addressing threats and vulnerabilities to IT infrastructures and critical systems, including experience in at least one (1) of the following areas: networks, encryption, authentication, authorization, monitoring, or security management.
    • Three (3) years of technical experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
    • Two (2) years of additional experience may be substituted for the degree-level requirement.
    • Possession of one (1) of the following current certifications: CISSP, GSEC, MCSE, RHCE, SCNP, SSCP, or similar.
    • Technical certification from an accredited school or military organization.
